About Sarah
Sarah graduated with an Honours
degree (2:2) in Modern Languages (French and Italian). She
thought about graduating with an ordinary degree at the end
of third year, which would not have been uncommon in Scotland,
but eventually decided she'd like to do Honours. She also
studied marketing and computing in her 1st year at university.
She came to university straight from school and has four Highers
English, Maths, French and Geography A, B, A, B. (She started
Italian when she reached university). Her Italian and French
are both pretty good, though her Italian is probably now more
fluent since she has spent more time in Italy.
Her degree included a year abroad, working
as an English language assistant, and she spent the summer
immediately after that in Italy working on a campsite. During
her last year at school and her first three years at university,
she worked part-time for Asda shelf filling, checkout, receiving
deliveries etc and during her last year at university she
worked as a waitress in a local bar/restaurant.
She really enjoys amateur dramatics and
is an active member of a local drama group who put on a musical
every year. She has never had a starring role, simply a few
roles in the chorus and a bit of experience helping with the
admin - tickets, selling programmes etc. Up until she left
school she played the French horn in both the school and the
local music academy orchestra. She spends a fair amount of
time with friends (clubs, cinema, eating out), goes to the
gym reasonably regularly and enjoys going abroad on holiday.
So, how can Sarah put this into a CV
which will impress an employer?
