

As the parliamentary groups main resource in this area, you will be expected to provide advice and support to the shadow cabinet, provide specific support to MSPs and general support for Parliamentary debates, monitor and advise on the work of the Scottish government and matters external which affect the portfolio.
Furthermore you will be expected to maintain and develop contacts and networks within the portfolios and liase with relevant external organisations keeping the parliamentary group fully appraised of the developing policy agenda.
The ideal candidate would be educated to degree standard and have a sound working knowledge of the Scottish political environment. You will be confident, outgoing, and able to work under pressure and to a deadline. Your written and analytical skills should be of a high standard, computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential. Training will be provided but the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running.
