What Next?
1. Visit your Careers Service
How your Careers Service can help you:
- direct you to up-to-date sources of LMI
- discuss and help you explore ideas about what you want to do after graduating
- help you to see yourself better (your skills, interests, values) and relate this to the requirements of different occupations
What your Careers Service won't do:
- tell you what job or occupation is right for you
- find or apply for a job for you
- help you or provide advice on applying for work permits. For more information about this, see How do I find work?
2. Get SORTED
The link below will direct you to the SORTED seminar on LMI, ‘Finding your first graduate job in Scotland'. You should also visit the SORTED seminar, ‘Making Work Experience Count'.
3. Take the initiative!
Use the activities in the seminars to:
- research the Scottish labour market in more detail
- find out more about industries and occupations
- begin to review your skills and begin to match them to the demands of the market
In addition to providing examples of jobs, the SORTED seminar ‘Making Work Experience Count' will help you identify and match your skills, find currently advertised jobs that interest you and carry out the same assessment.
