Team Roles
Each member of a team has a role to play.

Think about the types of team members you would need if you were:

  • Making a movie

  • Building a house


Team Roles

Making a film

Writer - Uses creative thinking to solve problems.
Producer - Keeps the project on time, ensures the director knows what he needs to do, and when. Has an organised approach and an overall view of the project.
Director - Hardworking and organised. Works through the project as directed by the producer. Ensures actors know what is required of them.
Actors - Use their specialist knowledge and skills to deliver specific parts of the project as requested by the director.

Building a house

Architect - Uses creative thinking to solve problems and meet project objectives.
Project Manager - Keeps the project on time, ensures each contractor knows what he needs to do, and when. Has an organised approach and an overall view of the project.
Builders/Contractor - Hardworking and organised. Works through the project as directed by the project manager. Passes specialist jobs onto individually skilled workers - electrician, plumber, plasterer.
Electrician/plumber - Use their specialist knowledge and skills to complete specific tasks in the project under the direction of the builder/contractor.
