Presentations 1

Effective presentations
Having completed the preparation stages, including at least one rehearsal, the next task is to deliver the presentation.

Let's start by looking at what makes an effective presenter.

Think about a good presenter and a bad presenter you have seen, maybe in person or on the TV. Try to identify what it is the presenters do, which makes them either effective or ineffective.

Also think about a time when you have delivered a presentation, either socially or at university. How was the experience? Did you get the message across?

Try to identify what it is the presenters do, which makes them either effective or ineffective. Some of the issues you may have come up with:

  • Approach

  • Voice

  • Attitude and tone

  • Eye contact

  • Dress
