Visual Aids 1

Preparing visual aids Visual aids facts
This should be the last thing you do when preparing a presentation. Visual aids are important as they help get your message across.

Research finds that sight is the most used human sense - 75% of all environmental stimuli is received through visual reception. But they do not replace you, they are to support and enhance your presentation.

Think of your audience when deciding the format of your visual aids.

Other compelling evidence in support of visual aids suggests that:

  • 55% of what your audience learns comes from the visual aids

  • 38% of what your audience learns comes from audio messages

  • presenters are twice as likely to achieve their objectives using  a visual presentation as against using a purely oral presentation

  • message retention is five times greater using a oral-visual presentation compared to an oral only presentation
