Initial considerations - Timing HR Mills Class Attention Curve
How long is the presentation? Do you have to allow for questions in that time?
How long are you expected to speak for?

  • Time is a critical element as your audience will have a limited attention span

  • Stick to your allotted time; to overrun is unprofessional

  • Stick to 3-5 key points (objectives) to get across

  • Allocate the appropriate time to each point - don’t spend a lot of time on a subject that is straightforward at the expense of a topic that is critical
