Project Teams? 1

The project team
Integral to the success of any project is an effective project team.

Project teams are brought together for a limited time to achieve the specific outcomes or deliverables of a project.

A project team comprises everyone who contributes to the project at any given time (the client may contribute but not be part of the team). This may include external contractors, suppliers, specialists or colleagues.

At work, you may find yourself being part of a larger project team or you could be responsible for a small in-house project as project manager.

Project teams can be organised as either:

Functional Teams
Different teams are responsible for different stages in the project, it is important that a team keeps to schedule to hand over to the next team in the process.

Single Teams
One team is responsible for delivering on all stages of the project.
