Business Letter 6

Closing the LetterBusiness letter - closing the letter
Letters can be closed in a variety of ways.

Use a closing remark (Yours sincerely, or Yours faithfully, are the most common) placed a double line space below the last paragraph and in the same horizontal position as the greeting. Then leave four to six line spaces below for the signature with the full name and personal title of the sender.

When the greeting is to:

  • A named person,
    close with 'Yours sincerely'

  • Sir or Madam,
    close with 'Yours faithfully'

This framework should provide a sound basis for your business letters.
